You've reached the companion Web site for "Spoutin' Off", a bi-weekly technology column which ran in the Daily Press (Newport News, Va.) from May of 2004 until May of 2009.
The column was discontinued due to contraction in the size of the paper and a shift in local focus to personal budget issues.
The difficulties faced by the newspaper industry are hard to deny. The Tribune Company, owner of the Daily Press, has been amongst the hardest hit. Accordingly, I prefer to not be judgmental. The folks at the paper are under intense pressure.
I miss writing the column and hope to find another outlet where I can continue to offer, what I consider to be, an interesting alternative perspective of technology issues and how they affect our lives on a daily basis.
Here, you'll still find a form to send feedback, as well as an archive of all the columns.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who's ever read "Spoutin' Off" over the years, with a special shout-out to everyone who's also written to me.
I hope our paths cross again...
Pax,
